Welcome to Kirkoswald School Nursery

Our nursery children are able to enjoy the full benefits of our mixed age class, including high quality classroom resources, learning in nature, creativity and enquiry. Children learn together with their peers and teachers in a friendly, family atmosphere. Our school vision is 'Explore, Dream, Discover: be the best that you can be' - we aim to foster children's sense of wonder, collaboration and ability to share and discuss their ideas. Children in nursery form positive relationships with other children and staff in school aiding a smooth transition into reception. We aim to offer opportunities for children to learn through both play and more structured activities. Additionally, we use your child's individual needs and interests to design engaging and stimulating activities and experiences, both in the classroom environment and in the outdoors.  

Nursery spaces are available for children the term after their third birthday. We offer a morning session from 8.50am – 12pm, afternoon session 1.00pm – 3.30pm or a full day session from 8.50am – 3.30pm. We currently charge £4 per hour and £3.70 for lunch (children can bring a packed lunch if they prefer) with both 15 and 30 hours funded FREE childcare available, and we are happy to work with families to make our childcare work flexibly. If you would like your child to join our Nursery class, your child will have the opportunity participate in transition sessions before their official start. These sessions are tailored to meet the needs of each individual child, as we understand that every child is unique and will settle in at their own pace. Supporting your child as they adjust to school life is a priority for us, and we are eager to work together with you to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.
